At TheatreWorks we offer weekly Strength, Stretch & Flex classes for all students aged four and above to compliment the dance training on offer at the school. These classes focus on developing specific muscle groups to improve overall strength, technique and flexibility to help improve elevation, kicks, leaps and turns.

Working safely to improve strength and flexibility is a priority at TheatreWorks, our qualified teachers work closely with all students to ensure they are improving their skills in this area safely, ensuring correct alignment is present and any stretching is performed within the students limitations - over stretching is not encouraged at TheatreWorks. 

​

Strength, Stretch and Flex classes help our students to build strength to execute dance technique, kicks, leaps and turns correctly. During our weekly classes our students will focus on cardio to increase fitness levels, stretching - targeting specific muscle groups to increase flexibility and extension, strengthening with a particular focus on core, hip flexor and glute strength and drill exercises to improve pirouettes, kick sequences, jumps and leaps. We use yoga block, agility hoops, TheraBand's and yoga bands to create dynamic strength and stretch exercises.

TheatreWorks is a registered studio with the Rosina Andrews Dance Method - Leap Surgery. This program helps our students to understand the science behind higher jumps, correct technique for jumps and how to improve jumps. You can find out more about the Rosina Andrews Dance Method here:
